Product Introduction

 

The Type V elastic clip railway fastening system is a shoulder-type, bolt-fastening system designed for 60 kg/m rail on ballasted concrete sleepers. It consists of W2 (general) or X3 (low-resistance) clips, gauge retainers, screw spikes, and rubber pads, providing ±8mm gauge adjustment, $\le 10$mm height adjustment, and insulation. It is primarily used on 160-250km/h passenger-freight lines.

There are two types of elastic clips in the Type V railway fastening system: the W2-type elastic clip (with a diameter of 14 mm) used in general sections, and the X3-type elastic clip (with a diameter of 13 mm) that may be used on bridges.

In addition, the Type A elastic clip of the Type I fastener, which is a spare part, may be used at rail joints.

Standards for elastic clip installation: The front lower jaw in the middle of the elastic clip should not be in contact with the rail. The gap between them must not exceed 0.5 mm. Alternatively, when checking the torque of spiral spikes with a torque wrench, the torque for W2-type elastic clips is 130–170 N·m, and for X3-type elastic clips is 80–110 N·m.

 

Under-rail pads

 

Under-rail pads are categorized into two types:

 

RP5 Rubber Pads for general sections.

 

CRP5 Composite Pads for low-resistance sections.

 

Additionally, under-rail pads include:

 

  • Rubber pads for standard applications.
  • Composite pads (optional) for bridges requiring reduced track resistance. When lowering resistance on bridges, use X3-type elastic clips in conjunction with composite pads.

 

Note: The CRP5 composite pad is explicitly designed for low-resistance scenarios (e.g., bridges), while the RP5 rubber pad is used in regular sections. The second paragraph clarifies the general classification and bridge-specific configuration.

Gauge retainer G5 has seven models: No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 6, No. 7, and No. 8. Models 4 and 6 are used for standard gauge.

Height adjustment pad TD5 is available in four specifications by thickness: 1mm, 2mm, 5mm, and 8mm. It is placed between the under-rail pad and the rail-bearing surface of the sleeper.

The vertical adjustment range is 10mm, which is achieved by placing height adjustment pads between the under-rail pad and the sleeper. Height adjustment pads must not be placed on the under-rail pad. The total thickness of the height adjustment pads placed must not exceed 10mm, and the number must not exceed 2 pieces.

 

The gap between the rail and the gauge retainer must not exceed 1mm. The gauge retainer should fit closely with the shoulder of the rail-bearing groove, with a gap not exceeding 1mm.

 

Gauge adjustment range: -8~+4mm. Gauge and rail alignment adjustments are achieved by replacing gauge retainers of different numbers.
