55Q is a medium-carbon steel known for its high strength, hardness, and excellent wear resistance, making it ideal for light railway tracks in mines, factories, and low-speed urban transport, surpassing the performance of lower-carbon Q235 steel but at a higher cost. Key properties include high tensile strength (around 685 MPa), good hardness (≥ 197 HBW), and specific carbon content (0.50-0.60%), balancing robustness with machinability for demanding track applications.
