WJ-8 Clip Railway Fasteners System Composition

WJ-8 Clip Railway Fasteners System is mainly composed of spiral spikes, flat washers, spring clips, insulating gauge blocks, gauge baffles, rail pads, iron pads, elastic pads under iron pads, and embedded casings.

To achieve height adjustment, rail fine-tuning pads and iron pad height adjustment pads are also equipped. Among them, spring clips are of two types: W1 with a diameter of 14mm and X2 with a diameter of 13mm. X2 spring clips are used when small resistance fasteners are used on bridges. Gauge baffles are divided into joint gauge baffles for general sections and for clamps. Elastic pads under iron pads are divided into A and B according to the thickness of 12mm. Type A is used for high-speed rail lines that take into account freight, and type B is used for high-speed rail lines that only run passenger cars. Spiral spikes are also divided into S2 and S3 types. When the fastener is installed normally or the rail height adjustment does not exceed 15mm, the S2 type is used; when the height adjustment is greater than 15mm, the S3 type is used.

Working principle

Two spiral spikes pass through the spring bar, iron pad and the height adjustment pad under the plate from top to bottom, and are screwed into the nylon sleeve deep in the ballastless track to apply a stable buckling pressure to the spring bar. An insulating block is set between the spring bar and the rail to ensure the insulation performance of the fastener. When the train is running, the pressure is transmitted to the rubber pad under the rail or the height adjustment pad under the rail through the rail, and then the force is transmitted to the cast steel pad. The iron pad bears the vertical, lateral and longitudinal forces transmitted from the spring bar, the rubber pad under the rail or the height adjustment pad under the rail. The vertical force is transmitted to the ballastless track through the rubber pad or the height adjustment pad under the iron pad; the lateral force is transmitted to the shoulder with the help of the gauge block closely connected to the iron pad.

By replacing different types of track gauge blocks, the iron plate can be moved left and right to adjust the track gauge. The track gauge adjustment of the WJ-8 type fastener is about ±4mm. In addition, a rubber pad under the iron plate is added to work together with the rubber pad under the rail to further enhance the elasticity of the fastener. The system can be adjusted up to 30mm, which can meet the needs of track height adjustment.
