There are various ways to lay railway tracks, each with its specific application scenarios and differences. Track-laying tools and equipment refer to the special tools or devices used in the construction of railway track laying.

Track-laying methods

Railway track-laying methods mainly include manual track-laying, mechanical track-laying, and special laying types, etc.

Main Track-laying Methods and Their Application Scenarios

Manual Track-laying:

Manual track-laying involves using existing or already laid lines to unload rails, sleepers, and accessories near the construction section, then completing the laying by manpower or simple machinery. This method is suitable for projects with small track-laying volumes, such as temporary lines and special-purpose lines.

Application scenarios: When the construction area is narrow, the terrain is complex, or mechanical equipment is difficult to access, manual track-laying becomes the primary choice. Additionally, it is an economically feasible option when the construction period is not tight and the budget is limited.

Differences: Compared with mechanical track-laying, manual track-laying is slower and involves higher labor intensity, but it offers greater flexibility and adaptability.

Mechanical Track-laying

Mechanical track-laying involves transporting pre-assembled track panels from the track-laying base to the laying site using track panel trains, then laying them on the pre-loaded ballast with track-laying machines. This method is efficient and fast, suitable for large-scale railway construction.

Application scenarios: Large-scale railway construction projects such as main railway lines, high-speed railways, and urban rail transit usually adopt mechanical track-laying. These projects have strict requirements on the construction period and huge engineering volumes, and mechanical track-laying can significantly improve construction efficiency and quality.

Differences: Mechanical track-laying requires professional mechanical equipment and personnel, with a relatively large initial investment. However, once put into use, its efficiency and quality are superior to manual track-laying.

Main Tooling Products in Track-laying

Locator: Used to position the track foundation on the working surface, ensuring that sleepers and tracks can be accurately placed at specified positions.

Bogie (also known as track-laying machine): Its function is to rotate sleepers and tracks to specified positions along a certain curve or straight line, ensuring the accuracy and continuity of track laying.

Leveling frame: Used to adjust sleepers and tracks to ensure the flatness and stability of the track, which is crucial for the safety and comfort of train operation.

Fuel-powered electric welding machine: During track-laying, rails need to be welded together to form a continuous track. The fuel-powered electric welding machine is the equipment used to weld rails together, ensuring welding quality and efficiency.

Stretching machine: Used to tension components such as steel strands connecting railways, so as to enhance the overall stability and tensile strength of the track structure.

Track panel support frame:When laying monolithic track beds, the track panel support frame is used to fix the track and adjust the gauge and track elevation. It consists of main support rods, adjusting screws, base support plates and other components, which can ensure the precision and stability of track laying.

Gantry crane and track panel lifting tool: The gantry crane is used to hoist heavy objects such as track panels at the track-laying base or construction site, while the track panel lifting tool is a supporting equipment of the gantry crane, used to fix and lift track panels, ensuring safety and stability during the hoisting process.

Other auxiliary equipment:Such as screw adjusters, rail pressing base plates, steel supports, etc. These devices play a role in auxiliary support, adjustment and fixation during the track-laying process, helping to improve the efficiency and quality of track-laying.
