Elastic Rail Clip (ERC) is used for fastening the rails with PSC Sleepers. The Elastic Rail Clips used in Indian Railway are mostly Pandrol Type, and therefore many times they are referred as "Pandrol Clips" also.
Function: To fasten the railway track to the sleepers.
How it works: The clip exerts a continuous downward force, called the "toe load," on the rail.
Materials: It is typically made from forged spring steel, such as grade 55Si7.
