Rail pad, or railway rubber pad, is a material available to decrease the vibration transmitted from the rails to the sleeper or subgrade.
GNEE RAIL is equipped with rail pad production lines for 130sets of machines, for the whole process of injection, refining rubber, sulfuration, moulding and inspection, etc. We own the most engineers for rail pad development, design, production and inspection, with annual production capacity reaching up to 2000, 000 pieces. What's more, rail pads for high speed rail lines are our featured products, including both the elastic rubber plates and height adjustment pads.

Our EVA/HDPE/rubber rail pads are with high elasticity, applying to types for rails such as rail UIC54, UIC60, BS80lbs,BS100lbs, and sizes as ordered. The pads can be customized with or without grooves, in various possible designs, depending on customers' requirements.

What cleaning is required before installing rail pads?
Before installing rail pads, you must thoroughly clean the rail seat (sleeper surface) to remove ALL dust, sand, grease, oil, and debris, ensuring it's dry and flat; any contamination causes gaps, uneven stress, reduced clamping force, and rapid pad wear, compromising safety and performance, so use brushes, vacuums, and potentially mild cleaners but avoid harsh chemicals like bleach or muriatic acid to protect the pad and sleeper.
Key Cleaning Steps:
- Remove Loose Debris: Use brushes, vacuums, or compressed air to clear away ballast, dust, dirt, and old pad remnants.
- Eliminate Oils/Grease: Wipe surfaces with clean cloths; if necessary, use a mild solvent (like isopropyl alcohol) but ensure it evaporates completely, as oil prevents proper adhesion/grip.

- Ensure Flatness: Check for unevenness on the rail seat; large gaps or high spots must be addressed to prevent stress concentration on the pad.
- Dry Completely: The surface must be bone dry before pad placement.
- Avoid Contaminants: Don't use cleaners with chlorides (bleach, muriatic acid) or abrasive pads that can damage the pad material or leave residues.
As a professional rail fastener manufacturer, GNEE RAIL can produce various types of rubber rail pads with different materials, such as natural rubber, EVA, HDPE and so on. In railway fastening system, rubber rail pads are often installed between the rail tracks and the concrete railway sleepers.
