What Is Rail Anchor?
When the train is running, longitudinal force often acts on the rails, causing the rails to move longitudinally, and sometimes even driving the sleepers to move together. This longitudinal movement is called creeping. Creeping generally occurs in the section of double-track railway lines and single-track railways, where heavy-loaded vehicles are guided on ramps and parked and braked.
Line creeping is often caused by uneven track gauges, skewed sleepers, etc., which damages the line and even derails the vehicle, endangering driving safety. Therefore, effective measures must be taken to prevent creeping, and rail anchoring is usually used to prevent line creeping.

Rail anchors should be placed on the gauge side of the rail base against the same sleeper face of the opposite rail.

If the bearing of the rail anchor against the sleeper is disturbed, a new rail anchor and sleeper are required.
Rail anchors cannot be moved by driving them along the steel rail.
The sleeper must be kept straight when applying the anchor.
