E1609 Spring Bar: A Key Component Of Railway Fastening

Jun 05, 2025 Leave a message

In the railway fastening system, the E1609 spring clip is an important member of the E-type spring bar fastener system and plays an irreplaceable role. It is mainly used to fasten rails and sleepers to ensure the stability of railway track structure.

From the perspective of structural design, the E1609 spring bar is a unique "E" shape, which gives it good elasticity and buckling pressure. Through its own bending and twisting deformation, it is tightly buckled on the rails, effectively maintaining a reliable connection between the rails for a long time, preventing the rails from longitudinal and lateral displacement, and thus ensuring the accuracy of the track gauge when the train is running.

In terms of material selection, E1609 spring bars mostly use 60Si2Mn or 60Si2CrA hot-rolled spring round steel, which meets the requirements of GB 1222 and has excellent strength and elasticity. After processing, the hardness of the spring clip is usually controlled at HRC41-46, and the metallographic structure is uniform tempered troostite and troostite. A small amount of discontinuous ferrite is allowed in the core, and there must be no overheating or overburning, so as to ensure that the spring clip can withstand the alternating stress caused by train operation during long-term use, and is not prone to deformation or breakage.

E1609 spring clips are commonly used in industrial and mining railways and other scenes, and are also used in some lines of ordinary railways. Its installation is relatively convenient, and it can quickly complete track laying with other fastener components, such as gauge baffles and bolts. In actual use, it is necessary to pay attention to the daily maintenance of the spring clip and regularly check whether there are problems such as cracks and deformation. Once the spring clip is found to be damaged, it should be replaced in time to avoid track diseases caused by the failure of the spring clip, which will affect the safety of railway operation.
