Differences Between DJK and DT Railway Fastening Systems

In railway construction, while both DJK and DT railway fastening systems serve to connect rails to sleepers and ensure track stability, they differ significantly in multiple aspects.

Regarding application scenarios, the DJK fastening system, exemplified by DJK5-1, is primarily used in 50kg/m rail applications, commonly found in ground sections of access lines, ballasted test tracks, and railway yards. In contrast, the DT series represents separated two-stage elastic fasteners typically employed in metro and light rail systems, such as the DTI type used in Beijing Metro Phase II projects and the DTIII type installed in general vibration reduction sections of Shanghai Metro Line 1.

Structurally, DJK5-1 features two spring clip types (A and B), with Type B specifically for joint sections with particular gauge pads and Type A for standard sections. Its gauge adjustment range of +8/-12mm is achieved through interchangeable gauge plates. DT fasteners demonstrate more diverse configurations - for instance, the DTI type comprises elastic clip plates, T-bolts, gauge blocks, baseplates, rail/plate elastic pads, and sleeve bolts, utilizing polygonal gauge blocks (e.g., quadrilateral blocks for 6mm adjustment, hexagonal for 10mm) for lateral adjustment and combined pad systems permitting up to 15mm vertical adjustment.

Performance-wise, DJK5-1 incorporates nylon sleeves with over 60kN anti-uplift resistance and insulation components exceeding 10⁸Ω resistance to prevent current leakage and ensure proper track circuit operation. DT series fasteners like DTIII and DTV employ standard I-type spring clips with lower vertical stiffness (~21kN/mm), demonstrating superior vibration reduction - comparative tests show 5-10dB reduction in acceleration transfer function values versus DTI types.

Material selection differs accordingly: DJK5-1 uses premium spring steel for clips, rust-proofed metal components, and specialized insulation materials. DT fasteners match materials to functional requirements - DTI components combine various materials to achieve stable connections, gauge/vertical adjustment, and elastic damping.

Ultimately, both systems excel in their respective applications. Engineers must select appropriate fastening systems based on specific project requirements, track types, and operational conditions to ensure railway safety and stability.
