3. Purpose and Process of Heat Treatment
The heat treatment of U75V QU120 crane rails mainly improves the microstructure of the rails and thereby their mechanical properties, meeting the requirements of high strength, high wear resistance and good toughness in actual use, extending service life and reducing wear, deformation and fracture.
- Quenching. Increases the hardness and strength of the rail head and makes the rail surface more wear-resistant, but may reduce toughness - therefore it is usually combined with a tempering process.
