GB heavy rails are made of low alloy steels such as U71Mn and U75V, and are produced in strict accordance with GB standards for railway special heavy rails.
38KG Heavy Rail production requires a complex and precise full-process process: the steelmaking stage uses converter or electric arc furnace smelting, combined with LF furnace refining and RH vacuum degassing technology, to accurately control the content of elements such as carbon (0.65-0.8%), manganese (0.9-1.2%), and vanadium (0.06-0.12%), while controlling sulfur and phosphorus impurities below 0.025% to ensure the purity of molten steel;
The continuous casting process uses an arc continuous casting machine to cast molten steel into billets of specifications such as 160mm×210mm, and uses dynamic light reduction technology to reduce center segregation;
In the rolling stage, the billet is heated to about 1150℃, and passes through rough rolling, intermediate rolling, and finishing rolling mills in turn. It is precisely formed using a universal rolling process, and the rail height and bottom width tolerances are strictly controlled within ±0.5mm;
In the heat treatment stage, the rail head is subjected to medium-frequency induction quenching to form an 8-12mm surface The hardened layer has a hardness of 350-380 HBW, which enhances wear resistance.
The finished product needs to be tested for internal defects by ultrasonic testing and mechanical properties by tensile testing to ensure that each heavy rail can stably bear the train load during railway transportation.
