Railway Screw Spikes
Screw spikes are important rigid fasteners in railway track systems, named for their shanks featuring spiral threads. They serve as one of the core components in modern track structures for connecting rails to concrete sleepers.
Structurally, Screw spikes are typically rolled from high-strength carbon steel or alloy steel, with an overall "bolt-like" form: the top is a hexagonal or round nut (some designs include a flange) for easy tool fastening; the middle part is a shank with continuous spiral threads, which can enhance the biting force with sleeper anchoring materials; the bottom is designed with a sharp tip or flat head for embedding into pre-reserved anchoring holes in sleepers. During installation, they need to be used in conjunction with accessories such as sulfur anchoring agents, nuts, elastic clips, and iron base plates. Fixation is achieved through mechanical engagement between the threads and anchoring materials, forming a rigid connection between the rail and the sleeper.
