Rail clips, also known as elastic track clamps, are used to fasten rails to the underlying pads. Rail clips apply pressure to the rails by bending and deforming, thereby preventing the rails from moving longitudinally due to temperature changes or vibrations. Generally, rail clips are made of forged spring steel produced by hot forging process. Forged rail clips are considered better than other metal forming processes due to the most uniform microstructure.

The spring steel bars are first cut to the required length. The cut bars are conventionally heated to 950℃-1000℃. The heated bars are sent to the press for forging. Three sets of dies and fixtures are prepared according to the drawings before forging. The forged spring bars are sent to the quenching tank. After checking the dimensional accuracy and quenching hardness, they are sent to the next process for tempering treatment to make the spring reach the appropriate toughness. The finished products are strictly inspected and packaged.
