Product Introduction

 

The Type IV elastic clip fastener is a boltless fastener suitable for theⅢb-type shoulderless concrete sleeper in ballasted tracks.The type IV spring clip fastener system is suitable for the laying of 60kg/m rails on high-speed railways, including:High-speed railway with a 350km/h speed rating with a mobile unit (maximum axle weight 170kN);The 250km/h speed grade high-speed railway with the mobile unit (maximum axle weight 170kN) can take into account a small number of ordinary passenger vehicles (the maximum axle weight of the locomotive is 230kN) and a small number of trucks (the maximum axle weight is 230kN).

Composition of the Fastener

The Type IV elastic clip fastener system consists of elastic clips, insulated gauge blocks, rubber padding plates, embedded iron seats, etc.

There are two types of elastic clips:

Elastic clips for general sections (with a diameter of 20 mm)
Elastic clips for splint positions (with a diameter of 18 mm)

Insulated gauge blocks are divided into two categories:

Insulated gauge blocks for general sections
Insulated gauge blocks for splint positions
Each type of insulated gauge block is available in seven specifications from No.7 to No.13.

The elastic clips are classified into three types: C4, JA, and JB.

 

  • C4-type clips (20 mm in diameter) are installed in standard sections

 

  • JA and JB-type clips (18 mm in diameter) are used at rail joints.

JA-type clips (gray anti-rust coating) pair with joint insulated gauge blocks No.7, 8, & 9.
JB-type clips (black anti-rust coating) pair with blocks No.10, 11, 12, & 13.

 

This ensures proper matching of clip types, coatings, and gauge blocks for optimal performance.

Insulated gauge blocks are divided into two types:

 

  • G4 gauge blocks for standard sections
  • G4J gauge blocks for rail joints
  •  

Each type has seven specifications: No.7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. For standard gauge, No.9 and No.11 blocks are used.


Except for joint gauge blocks No.7, 8, and 9 (non-black), all other gauge blocks are black.

Longitudinal Rail Resistance

The longitudinal resistance of the rail for each set of fasteners (using C4-type elastic clips) is greater than 9 kN.

Joint Stiffness

Static stiffness of the rubber padding plate: 60 kN/mm (±10 kN/mm).
Static stiffness of the fastener joint: 75 kN/mm (-5 to +35 kN/mm).
The ratio of dynamic to static stiffness is no more than 2.0.

Fatigue Performance

When the fasteners are tested in accordance with EN 13146-4, all components remain undamaged after 3 million cycles of load, and the gauge expansion is less than 6 mm.

Insulation Resistance

When the fasteners are tested in accordance with EN 13146-5, the insulation resistance between the two rails is greater than 3 Ω·km, meeting the insulation resistance requirements of the track circuit.

Pull-out Force of Embedded Iron Seat

The pull-out force of the embedded iron seat is not less than 60 kN. During the pull-out test, no visible cracks appear around the embedded iron seat.

Influence of Harsh Environmental Conditions

After the fasteners undergo the 300-hour salt spray test specified in EN 13146-6, they can be smoothly disassembled using manual disassembly tools.

As with type III elastic clip fastener system is a boltless fastener system and is an elastic non-detachable fastener without concrete shoulders. It has the advantages of less parts, compact structure, high buckle pressure, strong track gauge capability, low maintenance workload, etc. It is especially suitable for railway line with large-scale mechanical operation. Its main structural features are as follows:

 

IV fasteners system

a) Pre-embedded iron plates are embedded in the concrete sleepers. The elastic clips are pressed into steel rails by inserting embedded iron seats without bolts.

b) An insulated gauge block is installed between the embedded iron seat shoulder and the rail to adjust the gauge and to perform insulation. The rail left and right positions can be adjusted by replacing different numbers of insulated gauge blocks.

III Fasteners system

c) Rubber cushions between the rails and the concrete track sleepers provide insulation cushioning and damping.

d) The fastener system is used in conjunction with prestressed concrete rail sleepers without shoulder. The elastic clip type of IV fastener structure can be installed on the original type IIIb prestressed concrete sleeper.
