The fasteners suitable for 30KG light rail need to take into account both lightweight and basic fastening requirements. The following categories are commonly used choices:
Spring clip fasteners are the core choice, such as ordinary spring clips or light clips. The clamping force of this type of fastener is 8-12kN, which can stably fix the light rail and avoid lateral displacement. Its material is mostly 60Si2Mn spring steel, which has moderate elasticity after heat treatment and is suitable for the smaller cross-sectional size of the light rail. It does not need to be over-clamped during installation to prevent the rail head from deforming.
8.8-grade high-strength bolts should be used for bolts, and they should be used with hexagonal nuts and flat washers. The bolt diameter is usually 16-20mm, and the length is adjusted according to the thickness of the sleeper to ensure that 2-3 pitches of the nut are exposed after tightening. The tensile strength of 8.8-grade bolts reaches 800MPa, which is enough to cope with the vibration load during light rail transportation, and the cost is lower than that of 10.9-grade bolts for heavy rails.
The gauge baffle must match the rail head width (60.33mm) of the 30KG light rail. Steel plate stampings with a thickness of 8-10mm are selected. The installation error can be compensated by an adjustment of ±5mm to maintain the gauge within the standard range of 1435mm±2mm. The baffle and the reserved holes of the sleeper are precisely docked to avoid looseness and gauge deviation.
In a humid environment, hot-dip galvanized fasteners can be used to form a 50-80μm zinc layer protective film to improve corrosion resistance. Ordinary carbon steel fasteners can be used for temporary track scenarios to reduce short-term use costs. After disassembly and rust removal, they can be reused. These fastener combinations can balance fastening performance and economy, and are suitable for medium and low load scenarios of 30KG light rail.
