Performance requirements for small resistance fasteners
In addition to maintaining the proper gauge distance, preventing rail overturning under dynamic wheel action, and providing adequate insulation performance, small resistance fasteners used on continuously welded rail (CWR) for passenger railways must also possess the following attributes:
A. Ability to adjust longitudinal resistance in accordance with the design specifications of bridges on CWR.
B. Guarantee of sufficient anti-creeping capability for the track.
C. Assurance of track stability.
