  • Measuring Point of Track Gauge

The measurement of rail track gauge takes into account the circular arc on both sides of the rail head and the wheel flange. The contact point between the wheel rim and the rail varies depending on the rail type.

For narrow rail moments, the gauge is measured at a specific point, typically 13mm below the rail top.

After construction activities such as widening of straight or curved sections, the width of the railway track gauge should not exceed 5mm and should not narrow by more than 2mm.
