40Cr alloy steel is also a commonly used material. It has good comprehensive mechanical properties, and its strength, toughness and hardenability are relatively balanced. When manufacturing components such as gauge baffles, 40Cr can withstand the complex stress caused by train operation, ensure the stability of the gauge, avoid lateral displacement of the rails, and build a solid defense line for the safe operation of trains.​

In addition, cast iron materials are also used in some bases, pads and other parts of the SKL system. Cast iron has low cost and excellent casting performance. It can be made into parts with complex shapes and has a certain shock-absorbing and noise-reducing effect. It can alleviate the impact of train operation on the track, reduce noise generation, and improve the comfort of the surrounding environment of the railway. ​

 

Engineering plastics such as nylon are used to manufacture insulating gaskets and other parts. This type of material has excellent insulation performance and can effectively prevent current leakage and ensure the normal operation of track circuits. At the same time, nylon also has good wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and can be used for a long time in harsh environments, extending the service life of insulating parts. ​
