The rail clips (also called rail clamp, elastic rail clip, rail fastener, rail anchoror track fastening )are used with railway sleeper to fasten rails on both sides. The rail clamps are usually made of forged spring steel, which are manufactured by hot forging process. The forged rail clips are considered to be better than other metal forming process due to most uniform microstructure.
The weight of an ERC (Elastic Rail Clip) varies by type, but typically ranges from about \(0.60\) kg to \(1.08\) kg. For example, the ERC MK-II Flat Toe is approximately \(0.60\) kg, while the ERC MK-V is about \(1.080\) kg. Other types, like the J-Clip, are around \(1.000\) kg.
