What is Railroad Rubber Pad

Oct 22, 2025 Leave a message

The Railroad Rubber pad is made from high-quality natural or synthetic rubber with excellent fatigue resistance and aging stability, performing reliably between -50℃ and 70℃. Its superior cushioning effect helps reduce sleeper stress concentration and enhances the geometric stability of the rail track, making it an ideal vibration-isolating layer between concrete sleepers and rails.

The pad provides an electrical resistance of ≥10⁶Ω, ensuring excellent insulation and minimizing signal interference. With a tensile strength of ≥12.5MPa and elongation of ≥250%, it withstands repeated cyclic loads from passing trains without losing elasticity. After aging tests, it retains high mechanical performance with minimal cracking or permanent deformation over time.

Rubber Pads Detailed Parameters

Rubber rail pads are typically used in high-performance rail fastening systems, such as the E-type, SKL, KPO, Nabla, and PR rail fastening systems.

Rail Pads Installation Instructions

Proper installation of rail pads is essential for track stability. Follow the principle of accurate positioning, tight fit, and even pressure:

rail fasteners

Rail rubber pads installation step1: Insert bolt(s) through hole(s) in rail supporting structure.

Rail rubber pads installation step2: Before installing rubber pad, the suppporting area should be clean and free oil; Laying the rubber pads on the support.

Rail rubber pads installation step3: Intall the rails on the rubber pads.

Rail rubber pads installation step4: Place body of clip over bolt(s) with rubber 'nose' resting on uppersurface of bottom flange of rail; Move clip into metal-to-metal contact with bottom edge of rail. Bottom face of clip will not be in full contact with rail support. Place special washer(s) over bolt(s); Tighten nut(s) with spanner;
