The turnout has the characteristics of complex structure, short life, low driving safety, and large maintenance and repair workload, which is one of the three weak links of the track structure, and frequent maintenance, repair and replacement of the turnout seriously affect the normal operation of the heavy-haul railway.

Based on the rigid-flex coupling method, a refined vehicle-turnout dynamic analysis model was established, and the reliability of the model was verified based on the measured results, and the influence of turnout mode and driving speed on the dynamic characteristics of the turnout system was studied by using the dynamic analysis model, and the effects of three strengthening measures that could be taken on site were evaluated, and the following conclusions were reached:
(1) When 20 sets of gauge tie rods are set on the side strands, the lateral force and vertical force of the wheel and rail can be reduced by 43.0% and 5.1%, respectively, and with the increase of the number of gauge rods, the indicators also decrease. Taking into account various factors, it is recommended to set L0-14 sets of gauge tie rods on the side strands in the fork area.
(2) The use of 1:20 track bottom slope in the fork area has a significant effect on reducing the wheel-rail force, among which the wheel-rail lateral force and the wheel-rail vertical force can be reduced by 14.8% and 16.7%, respectively.
(3) When the width of the section increases by 2mm, the maximum increase in wheel-rail force and contact stress is 8.3%, and the bending stress of the rail corresponding section decreases by up to 18.8%, so it is recommended to optimize the bearing section of the sharp rail and the core rail according to the thickening of 2mm.
