Procedures of Anchoring Screw Spike

Begin by placing sand into a pot and heating it to either 100℃ or 120℃. Once heated, add the appropriate amount of cement to the sand mixture, raising its temperature to around 130℃. Next, combine paraffin and sulfur with the sand and cement mixture, ensuring thorough mixing while maintaining heat. The mixture exhibits specific heating characteristics: melting at 80℃, becoming less dense at 130℃ to 140℃, thickening at 160℃, and burning at 220℃. Cease heating the mixture when it transitions from a diluted state to thickening, typically at temperatures between 160℃ and 180℃.

Using a grouting spoon, evenly distribute the mixture into the spike hole, ensuring it doesn't completely fill the hole. The optimal filling level is achieved when there's a 10mm gap between the mixture and the top of the spike hole.

Secure the anchorage frame atop the spike hole, aligning it with the hole's center. Drive the screw spike through the anchor frame, rotating it slowly during the nailing process. Insert the spike vertically into the spike ditch, avoiding any improper insertion angles such as slanting or skewing. Once the sulfur mixture begins to solidify, remove the anchorage frame.

Clean any residual sulfur mixture from the sleepers, ensuring a tidy surface. Any excess mixture can be saved for future use.

Apply oil to the screw spike and install the rubber rail pad, rail iron plate, clip, washer, and rail nut. During summer replacements, when rail temperatures are higher, allow additional time for the sulfur to solidify before installing the fasteners to ensure proper anchoring.
