Application of U75V Material in GB Rails

Jul 31, 2025 Leave a message

GB rails are railway rails produced in accordance with national standards (GB), mainly used in railway track construction to ensure the smooth and safe operation of trains. They include heavy rails, light rails, and crane rails, such as 50kg heavy rails, QU70, QU80, QU100, QU120 crane rails, as well as 18kg, 22kg, and 30kg light rails. Most of them are made of high-strength carbon steel or alloy steel, featuring excellent wear resistance, compressive resistance, and fatigue resistance. When producing GB rails, GNEE RAIL strictly adheres to requirements for dimensional accuracy, straightness, and surface quality to ensure that the rails can guarantee the smooth and safe operation of trains.

U75V is a high-performance pearlitic alloy steel with a carbon content of 0.71%-0.80%, a manganese content of 1.00%-1.30%, and an addition of 0.04%-0.12% vanadium. The addition of vanadium can refine grains, significantly improving the steel's strength and wear resistance, resulting in a tensile strength of over 980MPa and a rail head hardness of 300-380HBW. It also has good toughness and fatigue resistance, making it an ideal material for rails in heavy-haul and high-speed scenarios.

U75V is widely applied in the GB rail system. According to GB/T 2585, it is the core material for passenger dedicated lines with a speed of ≥200km/h and heavy-haul railways with an axle load of ≥25 tons. In accordance with GB/T 3426, it is compatible with models such as QU70 to QU120, meeting the load-bearing requirements of cranes of over 200 tons class. The U75V GB rails produced by GNEE RAIL strictly comply with these standards. Through the full-length quenching process, the rail head hardened layer depth reaches ≥8mm. In heavy-haul lines such as the Daqin Railway, the annual rail head wear is controlled within 0.1mm, and the service life is increased by 40% compared to ordinary materials.
