Application characteristics of QU70 rail in port machinery

In the efficient operation system of port machinery, QU70 rails have become key supporting components for core equipment such as container quay cranes due to their optimized design for complex environments and high-intensity operation requirements.

Strengthened design of rail joints

In order to cope with the impact force caused by frequent start-stop and heavy-load movement of container quay cranes, QU70 rails adopt a 45° bevel design at the rail joints. This unique bevel method can effectively disperse the stress concentration at the joints. Compared with traditional straight seam joints, the stress distribution is more uniform, reducing the risk of cracking at the joints. With Mn13 high manganese steel fishplate, this material has excellent wear resistance and high toughness. When impacted, it will undergo work hardening, further improving its strength. Through this combination, the strength of the rail joint reaches more than 90% of the parent material, ensuring that the rail can still maintain good integrity under long-term heavy-load conditions. During the actual installation process, technicians will also perform precise torque control on the fishplate bolts to ensure the tightness of the joint connection and prevent operational failures caused by looseness.

Ultra-long service life and economic benefits

Actual operation data is the best proof of the performance of QU70 rails. Under busy port conditions with an annual throughput of 2 million TEUs, the average replacement cycle of QU70 rails can reach 8-10 years. Behind this data is the concentrated embodiment of its comprehensive performance advantages. The long replacement cycle not only greatly reduces the downtime and maintenance time of port equipment, significantly improves the efficiency of container loading and unloading, but also reduces the material cost, labor cost and equipment commissioning cost generated by frequent replacement of rails. In addition, long-life rails are also in line with the concept of green environmental protection, reducing resource consumption and waste generation.
